ghs strings are amongst the finest manufactured today. They come pre-packaged into different sets, but given the granularity in available gauges and materials, I prefer to create my own ‘standard’ sets.

Well balanced sets (same string tension, no tilted bridge) comprise the gauges:

for Tenor Banjo / Guitar:      .010”, .014”, .020”, and .030”
for Plectrum Banjo / Guitar:  .012”, .014”, .020”, and .030”,
all strings with either loop or ball end; wound strings in either stainless steel or bronze.
Some other combinations of gauges, materials, loop and ball ends are available.
